LONDON HONG KONG DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL

Over a decade ago, London Chinatown Lions Club organised the first Dragon Boat Festival in the London Docklands as a fund raiser for Chinese schools around the M25 area.

With the support of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, and other major sponsors, the festival has developed into a major cultural event in the Capital, attracting up to 10,000 attendees each year.  The event is co-organised by the London Chinatown Chinese Association and the Hong Kong Executives Club as a fund-raising event and all net proceeds are donated to nominated charities supported by London Chinatown Lions Club.

A FANTASTIC SPECTACLE AND DAY OUT

The festival is an excellent chance for everyone to experience Chinese culture, while enjoying the thrill of competing and raising money for charity.

The event offers a terrific blend of entertainment that includes martial arts displays, live music, traditional Chinese lion & dragon dancing, a food festival, and much much more, making for a great family day out.   A fantastic carnival atmosphere around the festival is guaranteed, especially if the sun is shining!

The dragon boat racing is an exciting spectacle, with club, corporate and 'leisure-pleasure' teams battling it out for top honours - and bragging rights!   Everyone is encouraged to participate - seasoned paddlers to beginners alike, to make this event successful in every possible way each year.
